BEHIND THE MUSIC
Played by hand.
Built for the story.
I’ve been creating and saving stems for years: bass, guitar, keys, vocal ideas, rhythms, and sounds that didn’t necessarily belong to the same song when I recorded them.
Now I bring those pieces into conversation around specific creative work. A voice becomes an instrument. An instrument finishes a phrase the voice began. I might play the part, sing the part, transform my own voice into a different character, or use AI to help refine a beat or texture. The result is music shaped for a scene, an idea, or a perspective, not merely another song in a playlist.
I also follow the video. A shift in character or emotional stakes may call for a different voice, rhythm, or musical style. And I keep some of the rough edges. A note landing differently, a slightly crooked transition, a sound that feels played rather than polished into silence. That can be where the music starts breathing.
